Libya consumed over 1 billion cubic feet of natural gas, 9,000 tonnes of diesel in 24 hours

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) released figures on Libya’s consumption of natural gas, crude oil, and diesel over the past 24 hours, showing total natural gas consumption reached 1.082 billion cubic feet.

According to the statistics, the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) consumed 917.19 million cubic feet of natural gas, in addition to 16,617 barrels of crude oil and 9,009 metric tonnes of diesel to operate electricity generation plants.

The data also showed that cement plants consumed 85.27 million cubic feet of natural gas, while iron and steel plants and other industries used 73.086 million cubic feet. Other sectors consumed 7.14 million cubic feet during the same period.
