Lazio Target Moroccan Striker Yanis Begraoui to Replace Departing Dia

Meknes – Lazio have begun looking for a replacement as Senegalese striker Boulaye Dia nears a move to Rennes, after agreeing personal terms with the French side.

Estoril’s Moroccan forward Yanis Begraoui has emerged as a top candidate to step into the role once the transfer goes through.

French outlet FootMercato reports that Lazio have identified the Moroccan forward as a target. 

Begraoui remains high on Lazio’s radar while the club waits for Dia’s transfer to be completed.

The same source reports that the 25-year-old potential move to Lazio rests entirely on Dia completing his transfer to Rennes.

The Serie A side is holding out for a €15 million fee from the French club before giving the green light for the Moroccan forward’s arrival.

Dia has agreed to join Rennes, leaving the two clubs to negotiate the transfer fee Lazio are demanding.

Begraoui’s breakout campaign with Estoril Praia put him on Lazio’s radar. The Moroccan forward has elevated his game in Liga Portugal, establishing himself as one of the league’s most prolific finishers. 

With 20 goals in 34 league matches during the 2025/26 season, the Moroccan international showcased exceptional finishing ability as the key anchor of Estoril’s offense.

The Moroccan forward has substantial experience in France and Portugal. After developing in Auxerre’s youth system, he featured for Toulouse and Pau FC before establishing himself as a regular starter at Estoril.

A move to Rome would mark a major milestone for Begraoui, who has already proven his quality on the big stage.
