Former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Darren Keet has joined one of Canada’s biggest sporting institutions.
Ottawa City announced Keet’s arrival on their official social media platforms, confirming his position in the process.
“We’re excited to officially welcome Darren Keet as our High Performance and Goalkeeper Lead! “From representing his country on the international stage to competing professionally for nearly two decades, Darren now brings his experience, knowledge, and passion for the game to the next generation of OCSC players.”
As seen on their official website, Ottawa City SC is one of Canada’s largest private sporting organizations with 2,000+ members.
“Ottawa City Soccer Club takes players from the early years of soccer to as far as the game can take them. Through year-round training and league play, we empower players to develop technically, tactically, physically, and emotionally in a safe, supportive environment that champions fun and fair play.”
This is Keet’s first coaching job post-retirement. “Popeye” brought an end to his playing career at the end of last season after helping Durban City win the Nedbank Cup.
