South Africa closed with a third 155 on Friday to seal the team title by six, while Kenya rallied with a final-day 154 to hold off Tanzania for second. Muthomi completed the individual title with a final-round 75 for a 54-hole total of 229, six ahead of Ferreira, who finished runner-up on 235.
The win extends South Africa’s record and returns the trophy in the biennial championship, and returns the trophy to South Africa after the team finished runner-up to hosts Morocco at Tazegzout in 2024.
Team South Africa was managed by Women’s Golf South Africa Vice-President Petricia Buurman. Millard, Ferreira and Steyn travelled to Abuja occupying three of the top four places on the GolfRSA Open Amateur rankings.

Women’s Golf South Africa President Madeleine de Wet had said before the team’s departure that all three players had earned their places through consistent performances at home and abroad.
“They are talented, determined and fiercely competitive, but they also understand the responsibility and privilege of representing South Africa,” said De Wet.
