Jovanović Meets with Ambassador of Angola

During the meeting, the traditionally friendly relations between Serbia and Angola, based on mutual respect, understanding and decades-long cooperation, were reaffirmed, along with the mutual readiness to further enhance bilateral cooperation in areas of common interest.

Particular attention was devoted to the upcoming High-Level Commemorative Meeting marking the 65th anniversary of the First Conference of Heads of State or Government of Non-Aligned Countries, to be held in Belgrade from 31 August to 1 September 2026. In this context, it was noted that the upcoming gathering represents yet another confirmation of the traditional ties between Serbia and Angola, further strengthened by their shared commitment to the principles of independence, sovereignty, equality and mutual respect, as well as their firm commitment to dialogue and cooperation.

The interlocutors highlighted the importance of further strengthening cooperation within international organisations and multilateral forums, as well as of continuing mutual support on issues of national interest. In this context, Jovanović expressed her gratitude to the Republic of Angola for its consistent support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia.

Speaking about the prospects for the further development of bilateral relations, Jovanović expressed her confidence that Angola’s participation in the Specialised Expo 2027 in Belgrade next year would provide additional impetus to strengthening cooperation between the two countries and contribute to the success of this important international event.
