Janet Lee Harden, 83, of Brazil, passed away on Sept. 3, 2026, while at the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care.
Janet was born in Brazil on Sept. 6, 1942, the daughter of Henry and Irene (McGomery) Courtney. She attended Brazil High School and married Jerry Harden. She and Jerry had a daughter, Christy.
Janet enjoyed watching old Westerns, taking care of her home, spending time with her daughter and family and her beloved cats, Mousey and Dory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Irene Courtney; grandchildren Dylan and Hannah; siblings Shirley Wilson, Ruby Eberle, Virginia “Mae” Pieske, Margaret Nichols, Darrell “Jake” Courtney and James “Peanut” Courtney; and niece and nephew Jim Wilson and Dawn Wilson.
She is survived by her daughter, Christy Clark and husband Alan and best friend Evelyn Flight, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave Brazil, Indiana, 47834, on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Services will follow at 1 p.m. with burial to be held at Summit Lawn Cemetery.
