Iraq leads OPEC+’s output growth in August

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraq led the increase in OPEC+ oil production in August 2026 on a monthly basis by 297,000 barrels per day.

The OPEC monthly report, released on Thursday, showed that the alliance’s production increased to 38.055 million barrels per day in August, compared to 37.757 million in July.

OPEC production increased by approximately 346,000 barrels per day last month, reaching a total of 24.081 million barrels per day, compared to 23.735 million in July 2026.

Saudi Arabia and six other OPEC+ countries decided to maintain their oil production policy unchanged through October 2026.

The seven countries successfully eliminated voluntary production cuts of 2.2 million barrels per day in September 2025 and then 1.65 million barrels per day in September 2026.

In addition to these voluntary cuts, the OPEC+ coalition has been implementing production cuts of two million barrels per day since November 2022, with plans to continue until the end of 2026.

Iraq’s crude oil production rose by about 664,000 barrels per day (bpd) in August, reaching a total of 3.378 million bpd.

Kazakhstan’s crude oil production rose by 159,000 barrels per day in August, bringing the total to 1.807 million barrels per day.

The UAE increased its oil production by approximately 54,000 barrels per day, reaching 3.835 million bpd.

The UAE’s data remains part of the OPEC report despite its withdrawal, as its membership officially continues until the end of 2026, according to internal regulations.
