Iraq and Iran Will Stand Together Against Arrogance, Iranian Parliament Speaker Says

WANA (Aug 21) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf declared that Iran and Iraq will continue to stand firm against external pressure and arrogance. Speaking during a visit to the tomb of Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis at the Wadi-us-Salam cemetery in Najaf, Ghalibaf emphasized that the bond between the two nations remains unbreakable.

Leading an Iranian parliamentary delegation, Ghalibaf expressed gratitude on behalf of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the Iranian people to the Iraqi public for their participation in honoring shared “martyrs” and hosting millions of pilgrims during the Arbaeen pilgrimage.

Highlights of Speaker Ghalibaf’s statement include:

Unbreakable Alliance: Ghalibaf stated that unity between the Muslim world, specifically between Iran and Iraq, is rooted in divine traditions, the Quran, and shared cultural and spiritual heritage.

Joint Defense: He recalled how Iranian and Iraqi fighters stood side by side against ISIS conspiracies, highlighting the shared sacrifices symbolized by late commanders Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and Qasem Soleimani.

Resistance Front: Ghalibaf noted that the resistance front remains active and resilient against Israeli and American regional policies.

Faith in Victory: Concluding his address, Ghalibaf reiterated that solidarity, brotherhood, and adherence to Islamic traditions under religious leadership will guide the path forward, referencing the Quranic verse promising divine support and near victory.
