Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi affirmed on Tuesday that Iraq is currently shaping a new economy and a promising economic identity, requiring productive partnerships to support its development trajectory.

The Prime Minister’s Media Office stated in a release received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi participated on Tuesday in the German-Iraqi Dialogue Forum held in Berlin under the theme “Economic Bridges for a Shared Future,” attended by business leaders and representatives of major German companies.

According to the statement, the Prime Minister highlighted the many commonalities shared by Iraq and Germany, a key industrial nation with which the government seeks to cooperate across various fields and sectors.

“Iraq is currently shaping a new economy and a promising economic identity, requiring productive partnerships to support its development trajectory,” PM stated.

“Al-Zaidi outlined Iraq’s investment landscape, covering sectors such as energy, oil and petrochemical industries, phosphates, clean energy, and pharmaceuticals, as well as support for government automation programs, while presenting the government’s comprehensive plans, which focus on implementing financial, tax, and banking reforms to enhance the investment climate and foster economic growth,” according to the statement.

The Prime Minister invited German companies to invest in Iraq, affirming a readiness to provide the necessary investment environment and to remove any obstacles that might hinder their operations. He explained that the investment law offers extensive facilities and guarantees, highlighting the political and economic stability Iraq enjoys, along with a democratic system that supports the functioning of institutions.
