Iran Warns Trump to ‘Speak with Respect’ or Face a Different Response

Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, reacted sharply to statements by U.S. President Donald Trump, demanding that he address Iran with respect and warning that otherwise, Iran’s response would be different.

In a message on Monday, July 6, Zolghadr called the U.S. President “delusional” and wrote: “Previously, you, as the head of a rootless country with a 250-year history, spoke with similar rhetoric about wiping out Iran’s multi-millennial civilization, and the result for you was nothing but defeat, desperation, and requests for negotiations and a ceasefire! Iranians are strangers to the language of threats.”

Zolghadr further wrote: “So speak to the Iranian people with respect; otherwise, we will respond to you in a different language.”

On Monday, July 6, U.S. President Donald Trump addressed reporters at the White House, referencing the ongoing negotiations with the Iranian regime, stating: “Maybe we’re getting close to a deal, I don’t know. In any case, we will win; either we make a deal, or we’ll finish the job.”

The U.S. President reiterated that he had destroyed Iran’s navy ships and all of the Iranian air force’s planes. He said, “They finally realized they didn’t have radar anymore because their radar systems were destroyed. So, we targeted them late at night and in the dark.”

Trump also added: “Our powerful navy enforced the biggest blockade anyone has ever seen, and for two months, not a single ship could breach the blockade. Then we got close to maybe reaching an agreement, so we eased the blockade. I don’t know, maybe we’ll make a deal.”

He noted that finishing the job with Iran would be easy: “Finishing the job won’t be difficult. Of course, I prefer a deal because I don’t want 91 million people to be affected.”
