Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou made a few changes after the MTN8 first leg, as Sbangani Zulu got his debut int he defence while Simphiwe Masilela, Daniel Msendami and Boitumelo Radiopane were also handed their first starts of the campaign.

Despite the flurry of changes, Cedric Kaze’s men showed no signs of sitting back as they did in the MTN8 fixture four days ago, which set up for a lively contest as the Buccaneers look to get among the early goals but Melusi Buthelezi was on hand to deny Zulu a debut goal.

Having already lost Relebohile Mofokeng and Sipho Mbule, the Buccaneers’ attack was further depleted following Patrick Maswaganyi’s departure to Bahrain, leaving Oswin Appollis as the senior figure in their midfield filled with new signings.

However, the Buccaneers got their opening goal ten minutes before the interval when Kamogelo Sebelebele turned provider to pick out Radiopane, who held off one challenge before firing into the far corner to open his account for the campaign.
