Hakim Ziyech Could Be Heading to Libya Amid Wydad Dispute

Casablanca – Hakim Ziyech’s uncertain future at Wydad Casablanca could take him outside Morocco, with Libyan side Ittihad Tripoli reportedly making a financial proposal for the Moroccan international.

According to exclusive information reported by Africafoot, the Tripoli-based club has expressed concrete interest in the 33-year-old and is prepared to offer attractive financial terms in an attempt to bring him to Libya.

Al Ittihad SC is reportedly looking to move quickly on the deal and views Ziyech’s current situation at Wydad as an opportunity to secure one of the region’s most experienced attacking players.

However, no agreement has been reached, with Ziyech’s contractual situation at Wydad remaining a key obstacle to any potential move.

The approach comes amid an increasingly tense relationship between the former Chelsea and Ajax star and the Casablanca club. 

The two sides have reportedly held several meetings in recent weeks in an attempt to resolve disagreements, particularly over the player’s financial conditions, but those discussions have yet to produce a definitive solution.

The dispute intensified after Ziyech publicly criticized Wydad president Ibrahim El Asri on social media, accusing him of making false statements. 

The club has since sought to find a way forward while the player remains outside the first-team group.

Ziyech is reportedly determined to protect his contractual rights and could take the matter to FIFA if an agreement with Wydad cannot be reached.

Despite the situation, the Moroccan winger continues to attract interest because of his experience at the highest level. 

Al Ittihad SC ’s interest now adds another possible destination to the equation, although the Libyan club must wait for the dispute between Ziyech and Wydad to be resolved before any transfer can move forward.
