Haitian TPS Panel Discussion to be held Sept. 26

Staff Report

SARASOTA — Standing With Haiti, a panel discussion about the end of Temporary Protected Status for Haitian immigrants and how it will impact Florida communities, will be held Saturday, September 26 at 10:30 am at Unitarian Universalists of Sarasota, 3975 Fruitville Rd., 34232. The event is free, and all are welcome.

Sponsored by the Immigration Justice Coalition of Southwest FL (IJCSWFL), the panel discussion will explore how TPS termination affects Haitian families, workers, businesses, and communities in our state. Haitian community leaders, advocates, and affected families will share their perspectives, experiences, and insights on this important immigration issue.

IJCSWFL spokeswoman Maria Robayo says this is an excellent way to “learn how we can stand in solidarity and take action to protect our neighbors and our communities.”

The Immigration Justice Coalition of Southwest Florida is a community of concerned citizens that advocates for and supports our immigrant, refugees, and asylum-seeking neighbors. For more information: email 1ijcswf@gmail.com or visit
