Greek authorities on the island of Crete have arrested six South Sudanese nationals, including four minors aged between 14 and 17, on suspicion of piloting boats carrying migrants that departed from the coast of Tobruk.
The minors were apprehended after several passengers on board the boats identified them and accused them of piloting and guiding the vessels during the journey towards Crete.
Later, Greek authorities arrested two more men from South Sudan on suspicion of involvement in the same incidents.
The six individuals face criminal charges related to endangering the lives of passengers and facilitating their illegal entry into Greek territory.
