Gov‘t Strikes Kill , Injure Houthi Fighters Across Yemen

Aden — Yemeni government forces launched wide‑ranging artillery and drone strikes Wednesday against Houthi positions in several provinces, killing and injuring numerous fighters, according to official sources.

State television reported that army artillery targeted Houthi gatherings and reinforcements near Al‑Fakher market in northern Al‑Dhalea province, resulting in casualties among the militants. No further details were provided.

Deputy Information Ministry official Fayadh Al‑Numan said in a statement that government artillery and drones carried out extensive attacks along frontlines in Marib and Al‑Jawf, killing dozens of Houthi fighters. He added that in the western coastal fronts, government forces struck multiple Houthi military concentrations, also causing heavy losses.

As of 14:30 GMT, the Houthis had not issued a response to the reported strikes.

Earlier Wednesday, the official Saba news agency said the Houthis fired ballistic missiles at Mokha port near Bab al‑Mandeb. On Tuesday evening, the group claimed responsibility for attacks on military sites in Mokha and Marib using ballistic missiles and drones.

Yemen has witnessed a relative lull in fighting since April 2022, but clashes between government forces and the Houthis reignited in early July, leaving dozens dead and wounded on both sides. The Houthis have controlled the capital Sanaa and several provinces since September 21, 2014.
