GALLERY: Egyptian Festival

Henrietta, N.Y. — A celebration of cultural heritage is underway on Friday as the weekend-long Egyptian Festival kicked off at the St. Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Church.

The festival features a wide array of traditional Egyptian foods ranging from falafel to baklava.

It also includes plenty of fun for the kids with face painting and a bounce house.

“The church was originally established in Egypt; Coptic means Egyptians, the origin of Egypt,” said Father David Naguib of the St. Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Church.

The church invites community members to tour the church daily at 1, 3, 5, and 7 pm.

The event runs through 8 pm on Sunday night.
