Gabon Moves to Strengthen Health Insurance Systems Through Digital Audit

The partnership between ANINF and CNAMGS is expected to support the development of more reliable and efficient digital public services while ensuring that technology infrastructure better meets the needs of citizens and other users.

Gabon is advancing efforts to strengthen the digital infrastructure supporting public services following the completion of an information systems audit at the National Health Insurance and Social Guarantee Fund (CNAMGS).

The audit was conducted as part of cooperation between the National Agency for Digital Infrastructure and Frequencies (ANINF)  and CNAMGS , three months after the two institutions signed a memorandum of understanding.

ANINF has formally submitted the audit findings to CNAMGS, providing an assessment of the organisation’s information systems and highlighting key requirements for reliable and efficient digital services.

According to ANINF, effective information systems depend on three interconnected elements: skilled people who can drive digital transformation, secure and reliable data, and resilient infrastructure capable of ensuring service availability and continuity.

The agency said the exercise reinforces its role as the technical arm supporting the digital transformation of Gabon’s public administration, providing expertise and technical assistance to government institutions.

ANINF Director General Alberto Mounguengui Moudoki is overseeing the agency’s continued work to improve the reliability of digital systems across the public sector.

The initiative aligns with the Gabonese government’s broader focus on digital sovereignty and modernising public administration under President and Head of State Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema.

The partnership between ANINF and CNAMGS is expected to support the development of more reliable and efficient digital public services while ensuring that technology infrastructure better meets the needs of citizens and other users.
