Gabby Williams and Marine Johannes Get Labeled “Power Couple” for Les Bleues By Broadcaster After Dominant World Cup Win
Gabby Williams and Marine Johannes are representing France at the 2026 FIBA World Cup. The star duo led their nation to a comfortable 99-53 win against Hungary on Friday. Williams, Johannes and Dominique Malonga added 17 points each. Malonga also collected 10 rebounds.
Ahead of the team’s next game against South Korea, the broadcaster called Williams and Johannes a “power couple.”
“The power couple for Les Bleues,” he said.
While Johannes averages 8.5 points and 2.4 assists per game for the New York Liberty, Williams is enjoying her career-best season in scoring, averaging 14.3 points per game for the Golden State Valkyries.

Gabby Williams has high expectations from Team France
Gabby Williams addressed the media after Team France won its first game against Hungary. Though the team registered a big win, the Valkyries forward believes there is still scope for improvement.
Williams told reporters:
“I think our effort was good, but we still have a lot of things to work on. I am happy we didn’t play our perfect match, even if you get a lot of points. (translated)”
Team France went on to defeat South Korea in its second game. Johannes put up 17 points, while Williams had 14.
