Four civilians killed in RSF attacks in Sudan’s North Kordofan

Attack on Al-Qaa area

The Dar Hamar Emergency Room reported in a statement that RSF fighters committed “serious crimes and violations” targeting civilian populations in the Al-Qaa area west of Bara and surrounding villages. The group noted that fighters killed four residents while systematically looting property and terrorizing communities throughout the region.

The emergency room noted injuries and missing persons resulting from the attacks but did not provide specific figures. Local sources told the agency that the assaults targeted civilian infrastructure and displaced families already struggling with limited access to basic services.

Humanitarian appeal

The aid group appealed to humanitarian organizations and the Sudanese Red Crescent to intervene urgently and assist those affected by the violence. It specifically requested medical care for the wounded and protection for civilians trapped in the conflict zone, adding that the situation remains critical as fighting continues across North Kordofan.

Context of Sudan war

Sudan has been gripped by war since April 2023 when clashes erupted between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces. The conflict has killed tens of thousands of people and displaced around 13 million, with hostilities continuing across multiple states including North Kordofan.
