Floyd Mbele’s Club Comes Calling

The Botswana club is owned by former Orlando Pirates administrator Floyd Mbele, whose consortium took over the running of the club almost a year ago.

“I saw James at the training ground yesterday, and as much as he has not been announced as yet, he was brought by Floyd Mbele. He should be taking over during the FIFA international break,” a source with close ties to Nico United revealed.

Madidilane was at Arrows for a couple of months before he parted ways with the club, following a restructure of the technical team.

A Coach With a Winning Pedigree

Madidilane arrives with serious credentials. Last season, he was named Lesotho’s Coach of the Season after guiding Lijabatho FC to the 2025/26 Vodacom Premier League title. He won three league titles during his time in Lesotho, where he also coached Bantu.

Nico United, which is based in Phikwe – a mining town in the central district of Botswana – will be looking to Madidilane to steady the ship.

They are currently placed 12th on the log standings of the Botswana Premier League after eight matches.

He’ll be taking over from interim coach Monametsi Kelebale.

Another South African in Botswana’s Premier League is former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane, who’s enjoying a great start with Mochudi Centre Chiefs.
