Libya’s Transportation Ministry said that a private plane veered off the runway while landing at Misrata International Airport on Monday, causing a fire and the suspension of flights, Libyan News Agency (LANA) reported.
The ministry said in a statement that no casualties were reported among the plane’s crew.
Relevant authorities began procedures to deal with the incident, control the fire and take the necessary measures to ensure the safety of air navigation at the airport, it added.
The measures, according to the ministry, are being taken in preparation for the resumption of flights.
