Five die in Niger boat capsize

Five people have been confirmed dead after a boat capsized in Kudi River at Shaba Woshi Village in Katcha Local Government Area of Niger State.

The Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA) said it was yet to get information about the incident, which occurred on Saturday.

NSEMA, however, listed the male deceased as: Yahaya Abubakar, Usman Abubakar, Lamin Hussaini, Baba Ahmadu and Salihu Aliyu.

The state Police Command added that the bodies of the deceased had been recovered and buried according to Islamic rites.
