Alitheia Capital Targets 300 Women-Led Businesses With W.O.M.A.N. 2026 Programme
Alitheia Capital is set to connect more than 300 women-led businesses in Nigeria with investors, lenders, markets and technical experts through the 2026 edition of its W.O.M.A.N. programme.
The two-day programme will hold in Lagos from September 10 to 11, 2026, and will focus on businesses operating in manufacturing, agribusiness and nutrition.
According to Alitheia Capital, the participating businesses have been screened based on revenue thresholds, formalisation status and demonstrated growth potential.
The programme is designed to address challenges around access to capital and business capabilities by providing participating entrepreneurs with practical support in areas including investment readiness, financial management, governance, capital structuring, energy efficiency and cost reduction.
Businesses to Connect With Investors and Lenders
A key part of W.O.M.A.N. 2026 will be connecting participating businesses with investors, capital allocators, market makers and technical specialists.
The programme will also include a structured speed consultancy session, where entrepreneurs will have one-on-one engagements with investors, lenders and advisers to discuss their specific business and financing needs.
Alitheia Capital Managing Partner, Tokunboh Ishmael, said the programme was created to address structural barriers that prevent women entrepreneurs from turning existing business opportunities into sustainable growth.
She said the participating businesses already have revenues, customers and growth ambitions, but access remains a major constraint.
AI Training Included
Participants will also receive exposure to artificial intelligence through a hands-on adoption bootcamp delivered by Google Hustle Academy.
The training will focus on helping business owners apply digital tools to their businesses as part of the wider programme.
The W.O.M.A.N. platform also provides year-round digital learning through the Nzinga platform, covering areas such as financial management, investor readiness, growth planning, ESG and compliance, export readiness and green manufacturing.
Focus on Three Sectors
The participating businesses are drawn from three areas:
– Agribusiness and value-chain operations
– Food processing and nutrition
– Light manufacturing and packaging
The programme’s broader focus is on strengthening women-led enterprises operating within Nigeria’s real economy.
12-Month Business Tracking
Support for participating businesses will continue beyond the two-day event.
Alitheia said a cohort of businesses will be onboarded onto its Nzinga platform for 12 months of progress tracking.
The platform will monitor indicators including capital raised, jobs created and revenue growth, allowing the organisation to track the outcomes of the intervention over time.
The third edition of W.O.M.A.N. is supported by partners including FCMB SheVentures, Airtel, StarSight, RenCom, LATC, Bank of Industry, FCDO Manufacturing Africa, Google Hustle Academy, Lagos State Employment Trust Fund, SMEDAN and the Lagos State Ministry of Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment.
Alitheia Capital, which has more than $250 million in assets under management, invests in growth-stage small and medium-sized businesses across Africa, with a focus on women-led and gender-diverse enterprises.
