Emergency committee reviews readiness for heavy rain and floods
The national emergency committee, established by Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah’s decision No. 417 of 2024, met on Thursday to review preparedness for heavy rain, flash floods and flooding.
According to the Ministry of Water Resources’ media office, the meeting, attended by the ministry’s director of dams, Salem al-Sharif, reviewed the readiness of all dams, as well as cleaning and debris-removal work.
The committee also discussed strengthening coordination and preventive measures and improving rapid-response capabilities.
