Egypt, Morocco keen to promote co-operation on labour, social protection

Minister of Labour Hassan Raddad stressed Egypt’s keenness to boost co-operation with Morocco in labour-related fields, including social protection, social dialogue, employment, skills development and vocational training.

Raddad made the remarks during a meeting on Monday with Nour Elamarti, head of the Moroccan delegation and acting secretary-general of Morocco’s Ministry of Economic Inclusion, Small Enterprise, Employment and Skills. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 52nd session of the Arab Labour Conference (ALC) in Cairo

The two sides discussed ways to expand co-operation and exchange expertise in key labour areas, with a focus on benefiting from successful experiences in both countries to support labour and development efforts.

Raddad highlighted the depth of the historic and distinguished ties between Egypt and Morocco, stressing the two countries’ mutual commitment to strengthening co-operation in labour-related fields in a way that serves the interests of their peoples and supports joint Arab action.

For her part, Elamarti praised the strong relations between Egypt and Morocco and stressed the importance of further co-operation and the exchange of expertise in labour, social protection and social dialogue.

She also expressed appreciation for Egypt’s role in supporting joint Arab action, noting that sharing experiences and expertise among Arab countries is an important tool for addressing labour-market challenges and achieving sustainable development.
