Egypt Invites Cameroon Businesses to October Forum to Build New Partnerships

Egypt is inviting Cameroonian companies to an economic forum in Cairo in October 2026, with both countries looking to create new business partnerships and identify investment and financing opportunities across several sectors.

Mohamed Karim Sharif, Egypt’s deputy foreign minister for African affairs, announced the forum on Sept. 8 in Yaoundé after a meeting with Cameroon’s External Relations Minister Mbella Mbella.

Sharif is leading a delegation on a two-day working visit to Cameroon that includes officials from the health and infrastructure sectors. A representative of Egyptian construction group Arab Contractors is also part of the delegation.

Beyond the diplomatic component of the visit, discussions aim to identify projects and business opportunities in several areas of Cameroon’s economy.

Sharif said the two countries discussed stronger training and skills-transfer programs, as well as cooperation in health systems and infrastructure.

The Egyptian delegation was also scheduled to meet Cameroonian ministers responsible for transport, agriculture, and small and medium-sized enterprises to examine projects in those sectors.

The October forum is expected to support those efforts. According to Sharif, it will provide a platform for direct cooperation between companies from both countries and could also lead to agreements between businesses and governments.

For Cameroonian companies, the forum could provide an opportunity to find new partners, explore the Egyptian market and identify potential investment or financing opportunities in sectors targeted by the two countries.
