Nigeria’s men’s basketball team, D’Tigers, has unveiled its 12-man roster for the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup African Qualifiers, with head coach David Fizdale naming a blend of experienced internationals and emerging talents for the crucial campaign in Angola.
The squad, released by the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), will be led by NBA forward Chimezie Metu and features notable players including Stan Okoye, Ike Iroegbu, UC Iroegbu, Daniel Utomi, Caleb Agada, Kaodirichi Akobundu-Ehiogu, Christian Mekowulu, Martins Igbanu, Wesley Iwundu, Michael Eric and Paul Dibal.
Former NBA coach David Fizdale will oversee the team, assisted by Vanterpool, Ekpe Udoh, Caesar Adim and Deji Akindele as Nigeria aims to secure valuable qualification points.

Nigeria will begin its qualifying campaign against Tunisia on July 2, before taking on Guinea on July 3. D’Tigers will conclude the window against Rwanda on July 5, with all matches scheduled to be played in Angola.
The three fixtures are expected to play a key role in Nigeria’s bid to qualify for the next FIBA Basketball World Cup, with the team looking to build on its rich pedigree as one of Africa’s leading basketball nations.
