Cuban Foreign Minister denies government involvement in smuggling operations to America

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez denied today, Wednesday, any connection or participation of the Cuban government in human trafficking operations in Central America or Mexico, considering that what the New York Times published against Cuba is “defamatory fabrication” without basis.

Rodríguez said in a post on the X platform, monitored by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that what the newspaper published comes in service of the US government, affirming that the allegations contained therein are not based on any foundation.

He explained that during bilateral talks between the Cuban and US governments on migration issues, with the participation of high‑level officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Homeland Security during the period between 2022 and 2024, the Cuban delegation repeatedly warned of one or more operations to smuggle Cubans to the United States, with their coordination center in South Florida.

He added that the Cuban delegation repeatedly recommended that US authorities investigate these operations, but they never provided any response.
