CommBank Matildas add Haiti clash to October FIFA International Window

The CommBank Matildas will face Haiti in France next month, with the fixture to mark just the second meeting between the two nations and their first encounter in 14 years.

The two teams will come face-to-face at Stade Walter-Luzi in Chambly, France on Tuesday 13 October, kicking off 9pm local time (CEST)/ 6.00am AEDT on Wednesday 14 October.

The fixture will form the second match of Australia’s October FIFA Women’s international window, following the previously announced clash with Germany in Karlsruhe.

Australia and Haiti have met only once previously, with the CommBank Matildas claiming a 4-0 victory in Indianapolis in September 2012.

Haiti made history at the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™, qualifying for the tournament for the first time. The October clash will provide a valuable test for Haiti ahead of the 2026 Concacaf W Championship, where the Caribbean nation will compete for qualification to the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027™.

For the CommBank Matildas, the two-match European tour will provide contrasting opposition as Australia continues its preparations for the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Australia will first face Germany at BBBank Wildpark in Karlsruhe on Friday, 9 October, before travelling to France for the meeting with Haiti four days later.

Germany enters the October window as one of the world’s leading women’s football nations and reached the semi-finals of UEFA Women’s Euro 2025, while Haiti arrives following a successful Concacaf qualifying campaign.

CommBank Matildas Head Coach Joe Montemurro said:

“Adding Haiti to our October window gives us another valuable challenge and an opportunity to test ourselves against a different style and profile of opposition.

“Haiti have shown the quality they have by qualifying for the 2026 Concacaf W Championship, and they will be highly motivated with an important period ahead of them.

“For us, the two matches against Germany and Haiti give us a great balance across the window. We want to keep building our consistency, keep challenging the players and continue developing the team as we work towards the 2027 World Cup.”

Quote attributable to Football Australia Executive Director of Football, Heather Garriock:

“Securing matches against Germany and Haiti in Europe is an excellent outcome for this international window and reflects our commitment to providing the CommBank Matildas with high-quality international football.

“Playing two matches in different environments within a condensed period mirrors the demands of major tournaments and gives the playing group another valuable opportunity to come together and continue building cohesion.

“Every FIFA window is important, and we’re focused on ensuring the team benefits from meaningful match experiences with only five international windows ahead of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027.”
