CBL, economy minister discuss imports and letters of credit

Libya’s central bank (CBL) Governor Naji Issa has met Economy and Trade Minister Suhail Abu Shiha to discuss the supply of basic goods and priorities for imports.

The meeting focused on the flow of letters of credit used to finance imports, with the two officials agreeing on measures to facilitate their opening and improve coordination between relevant authorities.

They said the measures were aimed at helping stabilise prices and ensure regular supplies of essential goods.

Both sides agreed to continue coordination to support economic stability and maintain balance in the domestic market.
