CAMTEL Explores Digital Transformation Partnership with Amazon Web Services

CAMTEL has initiated discussions with Amazon Web Services (AWS) aimed at exploring collaboration opportunities to accelerate digital transformation in Cameroon.
The state-owned telecommunications operator hosted a high-level delegation from AWS Africa, represented by Raya Nassar and Terrence Naidoo, during a working session focused on identifying potential areas of cooperation. The meeting was also attended by Antoinette Manyaga, representing the ICT services of the U.S. Embassy, underscoring the strategic significance of the engagement.
The discussions centered on emerging technologies that could support Cameroon’s digital agenda, including satellite connectivity, cloud computing solutions, and artificial intelligence (AI). The two organizations examined how these technologies could be leveraged to strengthen the country’s digital infrastructure and enhance service delivery.
According to CAMTEL, the engagement marks an initial step toward exploring synergies with AWS that could help drive innovation across the telecommunications sector. The company said the collaboration is intended to support the deployment of advanced digital solutions while improving the customer experience.
If realized, the partnership could contribute to expanding access to modern cloud services, AI-powered applications, and satellite-enabled connectivity, reinforcing Cameroon’s broader efforts to accelerate digital transformation and technological innovation.
