Burkina Faso eyes pharma co-operation with Egypt’s Gypto Pharma – Egyptian Gazette

Egypt’s medicine city, Gypto Pharma, hosted Burkina Faso’s Foreign Minister Karamoko Jean-Marie Traoré and a high-level delegation in co-ordination with the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as part of efforts seeking to boost co-operation between Egypt and African countries as well asexploring new opportunities in the pharmaceutical sector.

The delegation was received by Gypto Pharma’s Chairman and Managing Director, Amr Mamdouh, in the presence of Egyptian Deputy Foreign Minister for African Affairs Karim Sherif.

During the visit, Gypto Pharma showcased its advanced manufacturing capabilities and production capacity in pharmaceutical products, as well as its plans to expand into African markets and strengthen the role of Egypt’s pharmaceutical industry in meeting healthcare needs across the continent.

Minister Traoré voiced appreciation for the advanced industrial and technological capabilities he saw during his visit, praising Egypt’s expertise in pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Burkina Faso is keen to deepen co-operation with GyptoPharma and draw on its experience and expertise, Traoré said, noting that his country is currently working to establish a specialised industrial zone for pharmaceutical manufacturing.

He described Gypto Pharma as a leading model for developing the sector.

For his part, Mamdouh affirmed Gypto Pharma’s readiness to provide the technical support needed during both the construction and operational phases of Burkina Faso’s pharmaceutical industrial zone, helping the country develop its pharmaceutical sector.
