Boskalis Deploys Four Tugs for FLNG Hilli Tow from Cameroon to Singapore

Boskalis is deploying an extensive offshore fleet for many years. And for good reason, because most offshore operations require the deployment of multiple versatile vessels. Recently, four Boskalis vessels were needed to keep a Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) unit in position and then tow it to its next destination.

This took place off the coast of Cameroon, where Golar’s FLNG Hilli had to be picked up for a tow to Singapore. Boskalis deployed its two powerful long-distance tugs BOKA Alpine and BOKA Summit for this task. What made this operation unique was that, during the position keeping of the 293-meter-long FLNG, they received assistance from the Smit Lamnalco tugs SL Trogon and SL Twite. Our subsidiary has been operating in Cameroon for quite some time, which made this collaboration a positive experience in many ways.

We thank the crews of our vessels for their work and wish the BOKA Alpine and BOKA Summit a safe and successful voyage to Singapore. We also thank Golar for the pleasant collaboration.
