Angola moves to open local bond market, eyes JPMorgan debt benchmark

Angola had 17 trillion kwanzas ($18.6 billion) of domestic government debt outstanding by end-2025, according to Finance Ministry data. By comparison, Kenya, whose economy is slightly bigger than Angola’s, had the equivalent of nearly three times as much outstanding in domestic government debt.
