Al Ahly on the pitch tonight, Zamalek in CAF, and a slew of European footie this weekend

⚽ It’s looking like a packed weekend on the pitch, with Egypt’s Premier League taking a breather after tonight and the major European leagues taking center stage. Here’s what’s coming up.

Tonight, Al Ahly close out Matchweek 3 of the Egyptian Premier League against Smouha, who will be trying their best to spring an upset on the Red Devils. Kick-off is at 8pm on ON Sport.

AND- In La Liga, Real Sociedad host Celta Vigo in a match moved forward from Matchday 6 to accommodate both clubs’ Europa League commitments. Real are unbeaten at home after their first victory of the season against Espanyol, while Celta arrive with just one point from three games. Kick-off is at 10pm, on beIN Sports 2.

Also tonight: Toulouse vs. Lille — Ligue 1, 9:45pm, beIN Sports 1.

Tomorrow’s fixtures

No Egyptian Premier League action tomorrow; however, Zamalek will kick off their CAF Champions League campaign on Friday, hosting Djiboutian champions AS Port in the first leg of the preliminary round at Cairo International Stadium. The tie was moved to Cairo after the two clubs agreed to play both legs there. Zamalek, fresh off a 2-1 victory over Suez Petrojet to close out their domestic round, will be looking to build a first-leg cushion before the return fixture on 12 September. Kick-off is at 8pm on ON Sport.

In the Premier League, Liverpool travel to Ipswich Town in Friday’s solitary fixture, with the former champions looking to bounce back after a mixed start to the season. Kick-off is at 10pm on beIN Sports 2.

In La Liga, Real Madrid visit Real Betis at the Estadio La Cartuja, aiming to make it four victories from four to open the season. Kick-off is at 10pm on beIN Sports 3.
