Yemeni Embassy in Cairo Follows Up on Killing of 2 Citizens in Giza

Cairo — The Embassy of the Republic of Yemen in Cairo announced Friday that it is closely following the case of 2 Yemeni women killed inside their apartment in Giza Governorate. 

The victims were identified as Fatoum Mohammed Saeed Khalifa, 69, and her daughter Intisar Mohammed Abkar, 42.

In a statement, the embassy said it acted immediately after the crime was reported, establishing contact with Egyptian authorities to monitor the investigation and legal proceedings. 

The embassy confirmed that several suspects have been arrested in connection with the case, while investigations continue to uncover the full circumstances and motives behind the killings.

The embassy stressed its commitment to pursuing the case until the perpetrators are brought to justice, expressing confidence in Egypt’s security and judicial institutions to resolve the matter. 

It also extended condolences to the families of the victims, pledging ongoing support and communication throughout the investigation.

The statement underscored the embassy’s broader role in safeguarding the interests of Yemeni citizens in Egypt, particularly in criminal cases requiring legal and consular follow-up. Coordination with Egyptian authorities will remain in place until official investigations are concluded and responsibilities are determined.
