Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, has opened the 19th round of Agenda Exhibition (Square Meter: a Free Space for Creativity), which runs through Saturday, 29 August 2026. The opening was attended by Dr. Mohamed Soliman, Deputy Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina; Eng. Hassan Wasfi, President of the Alexandria Visual Artists’ Union; and a group of artists participating in the exhibition, as well as art enthusiasts.
Agenda exhibition is an annual event organized by the Art Exhibitions and Collections Department affiliated with the Bibliotheca Alexandrina’s Cultural Outreach Sector, and is currently considered one of the most prominent art exhibitions in Egypt. It was launched in 2008 and has continued to this day.
Since its launch, hundreds of artists working across different artistic fields—such as painting, photography, sculpture, printmaking, drawing, ceramics, and video art—have participated in the exhibition. This annual event aims to give young artists the opportunity to showcase their work alongside more experienced artists, some of whom are leading figures in their fields.
