2015 Lawrence, MA restaurant murder suspect arrested in PA – NBC Boston

A man wanted on a murder charge was arrested Monday in Pennsylvania over a decade after a deadly shooting at a Lawrence, Massachusetts, restaurant, the U.S. Marshal’s Service said.

Yssael Lantigua Alecon, 45, was tracked to Hazleton City, a town near Scranton, and arrested on Monday morning, the Marshals said.

Lantigua Alecon had been among Massachusetts’ most wanted criminals after he was connected to the May 1, 2015, shooting in a bathroom at bar and restaurant Bali’s that left a man dead.

The victim was identified at the time as Joselo “Jose” Campusano, 21, our sister station Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra reported.

Lantigua Alecon was being held in Pennsylvania ahead of an extradition hearing. It wasn’t immediately clear if he had an attorney who could speak to his arrest.

“For more than a decade, Lantigua Alecon remained a fugitive wanted for murder, but today’s arrest sends a clear message that no matter how far you run or how long you hide, the U.S. Marshals Service and our law enforcement partners will never stop pursuing those accused of violent crimes and bringing them before the courts to face justice,” said Dennis Matulewicz, head of the U.S. Marshals Service for the District of
