Ipswich Town 2-4 Arsenal

Arsenal brushed Ipswich Town aside to secure their spot in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

The Gunners got the opening goal after just seven minutes when 16-year-old Max Dowman fired home his first goal of the campaign after being set up by Eberechi Eze.

The lead was doubled in the 16th minute when Ipswich turned the ball over in their own box, which allowed Noni Madueke to sneak in and rifle the ball into the far corner.

Mikel Arteta’s men did not take their foot off the pedal after the break and netted two goals in the opening 15 minutes, with Dowman completing his brace before Merino bagged his first goal of the campaign.

Ipswich were able to get a couple of goals back in the closing stages via the boot of Anis Mehmeti and former Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom.

Liverpool 3-1 Tottenham Hotspur

Liverpool advanced to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup with a 3-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur.

Joe Gomez earned his first start of the campaign for the Reds and wore the captain’s armband as Virgil van Dijk was rested along with Alisson Becker, as Giorgi Mamardashvili got a start between the sticks.

The Reds broke the deadlock in the 21st minute when Alexis Mac Allister latched onto a loose ball on the edge of the box and sent a first-time finish into the back of the net.

While Spurs were unable to find the equaliser in the latter stages, Liverpool went on to bag a second goal ten minutes after the break as Cody Gakpo cut in from the left before firing one into the corner.

The visitors did pull a goal back in the 69th minute through Conor Gallagher, who calmly nodded home at the far post after Mamardashvili failed to clear an in-swinging corner.

However, Liverpool made the victory safe in second-half stoppage time thanks to a superb volley from Dominik Szoboszlai that sailed into the top corner.

West Ham United 2-3 Fulham

Fulham edged past West Ham United to secure their spot in the fourth round on Tuesday night.

The first half proved to be a lively affair as Rodrigo Muniz and Cesar Palacios netted for the visitors, although the Hammers were able to get back on level terms through Morato and Pablo.

However, Fulham had the final say when Oscar Bobb found the back of the net to secure the win in the 78th minute.
