Troops Disrupt Terrorists’ Logistics Network in Niger

Troops of 22 Brigade under Sector 1 of Operation Safe Stability (OPSS) have disrupted a suspected terrorist logistics network during an offensive operation in Niger State.

Security sources Zagazola that the operation was conducted at about 7:30 a.m. on April 26 at Latan Daji in Patigi Local Government Area.

The sources said the troops, led by the Brigade Commander, Brig.-Gen. N.N. Rume, made contact with suspected logistics suppliers to bandits and terrorists, who fled on sighting the advancing soldiers.

According to the sources, the suspects abandoned their supplies while retreating, leading to the recovery of three motorcycles, a sack containing assorted soft drinks, and half bags of rice and gari.

The sources further disclosed that the commander held a meeting with community leaders in the area, warning them against aiding or associating with criminal elements.
