Yemen Monitor | Newsroom:

Yemeni Prime Minister Shaya Al-Zindani held the first meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Institutional Reform in Aden on Sunday to discuss its work plan and implementation mechanism.

The meeting discussed identifying the ministries where the reform process will begin during the first phase, as well as the relevant criteria, taking into account the nature and scale of institutional shortcomings, the importance of each sector, and the role of the executive committee and the importance of promptly commencing its duties, according to the state-run Saba News Agency.

The meeting emphasized the need to move from the diagnosis and planning stage to actual implementation, while monitoring results and submitting periodic reports on the level of progress, challenges, and the measures required to address them.

The committee aims to review organizational and institutional structures, clarify responsibilities and prevent overlapping or duplication of functions, build capacities through training and professional development, update legislation and regulations governing government work, advance digital transformation, and link institutional reform with financial and administrative reforms to ensure that these reform tracks are integrated.
