Yamal Responds To Kane In Ballon d’Or Race…

Spain 3-1 Czech Republic

World champions Spain maintained their winning record in the UEFA Nations League after defeating the Czech Republic 3-1 on Saturday night.

La Roja coach Luis de la Fuente had no desire to rest his big names as Barcelona quartet Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Dani Olmo and Rodri were included from the start.

The Spaniards got off to the perfect start as Lamine Yamal netted for a third straight game with a superb finish into the top corner from the edge of the box.

The lead was doubled in the 35th minute when Rodri latched onto a loose ball just inside the box and rifled the ball into the back of the net.

De la Fuente rang the changes at halftime, as both Yamal and Alex Baena were withdrawn for Yerry Pino and Victor Munoz.

The visitors did pull a goal back in the 69th minute courtesy of a strike from Jiri Slama; however, they were reduced to ten men on 85 minutes after Ladislav Krejci received his second yellow card.

However, Spain restored their two-goal advantage with one minute to play when substitute Mikel Merino fired home from close range.

Croatia 0-7 England

England put on a dominant showing by thrashing Croatia 7-0 at the Stadion HNK Rijeka.

The Three Lions made their intentions clear early on when captain Harry Kane scored for the third successive game after eight minutes.

Thomas Tuchel’s charges did not look back after that as Jude Bellingham, Anthony Gordon and Bukayo Saka got on the scoresheet to make it 4-0 before the halftime break.

It was more of the same in the second half when Kane and Saka completed their braces with goals in the 53rd and 68th minutes, respectively.

Substitute Morgan Rogers rounded off the scoring for the Three Lions in the 87th minute, with the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) approving the strike.

Tuchel’s charges will finish off their international break against the Czech Republic on Tuesday night.
