Wydad Management Seeks Solution to Ziyech Situation

Rabat Wydad AC’s management is looking for a way to resolve the situation surrounding Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech, with the club considering either finding a buyer for his contract or reaching a mutual agreement to terminate it.

The developments come as sections of the Wydad fanbase continue to call for Ziyech to remain at the club, viewing the Moroccan international as a key technical player and valuable commercial asset.

Wydad president Ibrahim Al-Asri previously held a meeting with Ziyech to discuss the player’s situation and future with the team. However, the two sides failed to reach a final agreement on the various issues discussed.

Wydad’s management decided to leave Ziyech out of the team’s training camp in Agadir, further increasing uncertainty over his future as the club continues to seek a final solution to the situation.

The dispute escalated after Ziyech was left out of Wydad’s friendly against Renaissance Zemamra and subsequently excluded from the squad traveling to the club’s training camp in Agadir.

Ziyech then addressed the situation publicly on Instagram, directly questioning Al-Asri over his absence and accusing him of preventing him from playing and traveling with the team.

The player’s account has conflicted with the version attributed to Wydad’s management regarding the decision to exclude him.

The situation has also sparked concern among Wydad supporters, with many calling for greater clarity over the circumstances behind Ziyech’s exclusion and his future at the Casablanca club.
