With this year’s draft class featuring guards like Darryn Peterson, Darius Acuff Jr. and Kingston Flemings, Carr was looking to cement his spot as a player to watch. He got the job done at the combine in Chicago.

1. The basics

2. He had a combine to remember
Carr was already projected as a first-rounder going into this year’s NBA draft combine. After his combine performance, he may hear his name called earlier than originally expected.
The 6-4 guard showcased his offensive skill set, posting 30 points on 9-of-18 shooting from the field against other top prospects. He made 6-of-12 attempts from 3-point range. His measurements were also impressive, as he led all guard prospects with a 38-inch standing vertical leap, a 42.5-inch max vertical leap and a 7-foot, 1-inch wingspan.
3. He quickly made his mark at Baylor
Carr spent just one season in Waco after transferring to Baylor from Tennessee. He was one of Baylor’s top players throughout the 2025-26 season, averaging 18.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. He finished the campaign with a total of 642 points scored, ranking fifth on Baylor’s list of all-time scoring season leaders.

Carr is also holds the Baylor record for total points scored by a sophomore.
4. He comes from an athletic family
Carr isn’t the only athlete in his family. His dad, Chris, previously played in the NBA from 1995-2001. When Chris Carr played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, he was the runner-up to Kobe Bryant in the 1997 NBA All-Star dunk contest. Chris also suited up for NBA teams like the Phoenix Suns, New Jersey Nets, Golden State Warriors, Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics.
Carr’s mother, Tanya, was previously on the Timberwolves’ dance team. Meanwhile, Carr’s sister, Christianna, played college basketball at Kansas State, Syracuse and Arkansas.
