On Friday, July 3, at 1 p.m., the World Cup match between Australia and Egypt will be played at Dallas Stadium, and many people will be looking for food from those countries or places to gather.
Whether you’re heading out before the game or celebrating afterward, we’ve compiled a list of restaurants serving Australian and Egyptian cuisine in the D-FW area so fans can enjoy the game with communities from these countries.
If you’re looking for places with authentic Australian food or dishes heavily influenced by Australian cuisine, there are several options.
The closest thing to an Australian café is The Aussie Grind in Frisco, known for its flat whites, chicken parmy, and Aussie-style breakfast.
Two Hands Dallas is another option — part of a chain with several restaurants across the U.S. that features an Australian ambiance.
You can also check out Little Ruby’s, a café that originated in New York and features Melbourne-style coffee. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
If you’re looking for Egyptian food, there are also several options in D-FW.
One of them is King Tut in Fort Worth, the longest-established Egyptian restaurant in the D-FW area, featuring specialties such as koshari — Egypt’s national dish — dolma, and other regional dishes.
In Garland is Koshary Time, one of the newest Egyptian restaurants in the D-FW area. Its specialty is koshari, and they also serve kebdad sandwiches.
Very close to Dallas Stadium, in Arlington, is Cairo Gyro & Grill, an Egyptian-owned restaurant that serves Egyptian and Mediterranean dishes, such as chicken and beef shawarma, kofta and gyros.
