WestJet has pulled the plug on flights from Ottawa to Liberia, Costa Rica, this winter.
The carrier had scheduled weekly seasonal service between YOW and LIR from 20DEC26 to 04APR27, operated by a 737 MAX 8, but the route has now been removed in the airline’s latest schedule update.
The cancellation comes as WestJet continues to fine‑tune its winter network. Costa Rica remains a high-demand and competitive leisure market, with Canadian arrivals up 25.1% according to Costa Rico’s official tourism board, due to changing travel patterns among Canucks.
Ottawa has also historically been a smaller gateway for long‑haul sun flying.
