Volunteer firefighters battle brush fire on Guinea Circle in Gloucester County

GLOUCESTER, Va. (WAVY) — Crews battled a brush fire on Guinea Circle in Gloucester County Tuesday, according to Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue.

On May 5 at around 4:03 p.m., the department was dispatched to the 3100 block of Guinea Circle for a reported brush fire. When crews arrived to the scene, they found smoke in the woods and one-fourth of an acre on fire.

This area was later extinguished, and more smoldering areas were discovered in the vicinity of three acres. The burned area was located within the plow lines that the Virginia Department of Forestry implemented weeks prior.
