Virginia vs. NC State: Preview & Notes
As I said, this is a pretty bizarre game. This is a nonconference game between two ACC teams that was originally scheduled to be played in Week 0 in Brazil. With no game scheduled in Week 1, both teams would use the extra time to travel back, rest, and practice again.
But the Brazil setting was nixed earlier this year, and the game was rescheduled to Charlottesville.
So Virginia will defend its first 11-win season in many years by opening up in Week 0, in a game that sort of doesn’t matter, against one of the only teams that beat it last season.
