Skiers are hitting the slopes at Afriski Mountain Resort in Lesotho, one of the few places in Africa where visitors can enjoy winter sports.

Located in the Maluti Mountains near Butha-Buthe, the resort attracts both beginners and experienced skiers during the Southern Hemisphere winter.

Visitors use ski lifts to reach the snowy slopes, where some take their first lessons while others return year after year.

Lesotho’s high altitude and cold climate make snow possible during the winter months, helping Afriski become a popular destination for regional tourists.
