The 34-year-old has been keeping fit at the club for the past few weeks, and the move has now been finalised.
“They Asked Me to Help”
Mabotja confirmed the switch to this publication, revealing that Gomora approached him with a clear purpose in mind.
“Yes, I did (sign). They asked me to help,” Mabotja confirmed.
Experience to Steer a Young Squad
Gomora boss Joe Seanego mentioned some time back that the team needed experienced players after finishing 13th in their maiden campaign in the second tier last season — a position that left them just above the relegation zone.
With 149 appearances for Marumo Gallants and 20 Betway Premiership outings for Bahlabane Ba Ntwa last season before being let go, Mabotja fits the profile perfectly. The veteran defender has also previously starred for Sekhukhune United, Black Leopards and Baroka, amongst others, bringing a wealth of topflight and second-tier experience to a Gomora side looking to climb the table this term.
